History of “The Bird”
Birdsboro Climbing Area was first established back in 1993.  Jay McLear and Bob Perna first visited the quarry that spring to scope out it’s potential as a sport climbing area.  After negotiating access problems and liability issues with the landowners, Birdsboro and it’s Municipal Authority granted permission to climb in the quarry.  In the Fall of that year they bolted Zorro and began the development of the Main Wall and the Big Wall.
